{oh!} Orkiestra was founded in 2012. Already in its first decade, this constantly evolving ensemble, under the leadership of Martyna Pastuszka, has established itself as a leading orchestra specializing in period performance in Poland and one of the most musically interesting orchestras on the European stage.

Collaborations

{oh!} Orkiestra currently collaborates with major cultural institutions in Poland, such as the Fryderyk Chopin Institute and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, as well as with the Misteria Paschalia, Chopin and His Europe, Warsaw Autumn, and Actus Humanus festivals.

Since 2018, the orchestra has regularly collaborated with the Fryderyk Chopin Institute. Thanks to this collaboration,  {oh!} Orkiestra received an invitation from the Institute to record the complete Mozart symphonies, as well as works of Polish Romantic music.

The band enjoys international recognition, as evidenced by concerts in major concert halls such as Wigmore Hall, Theater an der Wien, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, Auditorium de l'Opéra de Dijon, Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Kölner Philharmonie and at major festivals in Europe such as Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival, Bachfest Leipzig, Händel-Festspiele in Halle, Tage Alter Musik Regensburg, Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, Tage Alter Musik in Herne and Stockholm Early Music Festival.

The orchestra continually rediscovers forgotten Baroque opera repertoire and has premiered stage versions of Domenico Sarri's Didone Abbandonata, Johann Adolf Hasse's Arminio, and Leonardo Vinci's Alessandro nell'Indie, as well as concert versions of Leonardo Vinci's Gismondo re di Polonia and Antonio Caldara's Il Venceslao. Jacob Schuback's oratorio Die Jünger zu Emmaus and more than a dozen instrumental works have also been revived. The year 2022 brought the orchestra a fruitful collaboration with the Krakow Misteria Paschalia festival. {oh!} Orkiestra was invited as the resident ensemble, with Martyna Pastuszka as Artistic Director. The orchestra was also the resident ensemble at the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival in 2022.

Martyna Pastuszka – a musical entrepreneur: concertmaster, soloist, chamber musician, conductor,
founder and artistic director of  {oh!} Orkiestra, with which she regularly performs. Since 2001, she has
performed regularly with esteemed ensembles as artistic director, concertmaster, soloist, and chamber
musician, including Le Concert de la Loge, Concerto Copenhagen, Hofkapelle München, Collegium
Vocale Gent, Le Parlement de Musique, Aukso, and Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla. As concertmaster, she has
collaborated with Raphael Pichon's Pygmalion Ensemble and Teodor Currentzis's Utopia Orchestra.

Recent Achievements

In 2022, as artistic director-in-residence of the Misteria Paschalia
festival in Krakow, she programmed the entire edition and premiered
Jacob Schuback's oratorio "Die Junger zu Emaus." {oh!} Orkiestra
also premieres operas under her leadership, such as Hasse's
"Arminio" and "Gismondo," Vinci's "Re di Polonia," and Sarri's
"Didone abbandonata."

Martyna was invited to be an artist-in-residence by Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, and Martyna will collaborate with this ensemble more extensively in the 2025/26 season.
